Study notes

校 means 'school' and, in a more technical sense, 'correct, compare a text'.

On reading: コウ in 学校 (がっこう, school), 高校 (こうこう, high school), 校長 (こうちょう, principal), 校舎 (こうしゃ, school building), 母校 (ぼこう, school where one studied), 下校 (げこう, school exit), 休校 (きゅうこう, school closure). In the sense of 'correct': 校正 (こうせい, proofreading).

It has no common kun readings.

Remember: in school degree names 校 appears at the end: 小学校 (しょうがっこう, elementary school), 中学校 (ちゅうがっこう, middle school), 高等学校 (こうとうがっこう, high school), abbreviated as 高校.
