十 is the number ten; it appears in compound numbers (二十, twenty) and in expressions such as 十分 (じゅうぶん, sufficient).

On readings: ジュウ in 十 (じゅう, ten), 十月 (じゅうがつ, October), 十人十色 (じゅうにんといろ, "many heads, many opinions"). Before k, s, t and p it becomes じゅっ or じっ: 十回 (じゅっかい or じっかい, ten times), 十分 (じゅっぷん or じっぷん, ten minutes).

Kun readings: とお, "ten", in traditional counting of objects and in 十日 (とおか, the 10th day of the month; ten days). と appears in 十色 of 十人十色.

Special readings: 二十日 (はつか, the 20th day of the month) and 二十歳 (はたち, twenty years old) are read as whole words.

Remember: 十分 is read じゅうぶん when it means "sufficient, enough" and じゅっぷん when it means "ten minutes".
