Study notes

六 is the number six; it also indicates 'sixth'.

On reading: ロク in 六月 (ろくがつ, June), 六時 (ろくじ, six o'clock), 六十 (ろくじゅう, sixty). Before some sounds it becomes ろっ: 六百 (ろっぴゃく, six hundred), 六本 (ろっぽん).

Kun readings: む in 六つ (むっつ, six objects) and むい in 六日 (むいか, the 6th of the month; six days).

Remember: in numbers, times and prices ロク is used; むっつ belongs to the traditional counting of objects (ひとつ, ふたつ, みっつ…).
